ESG Reporting - AWARD WINNING STUDENT ACCOMMODATION PROVIDER

07.15.22

FINDING A SOLUTION WITH BUREAU VERITAS

Our client is an award winning student accommodation provider across the UK, with more than 50 sites across 22 cities. Recognising the growing importance of ESG reporting in an increasingly environmentally-conscious sector, our client wanted to publish its first Environmental, Social and Governance report.

It turned to the Bureau Veritas sustainability team to help identify their material sustainability impacts, that:

  • Reflect the reporting organisation’s significant economic, environmental, and social impacts.
  • Or substantively influence the assessments and decisions of stakeholders.

PROJECT BRIEF

Drawing on significant experience providing independent consultancy services to high profile organisations, Bureau Veritas was tasked with ensuring all material impacts were identified.

This was ensured through materiality mapping and an audit of data capture and reporting methods, before findings were presented together with a summary of recommendations to ensure that content was aligned with relevant frameworks.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Our reputation as a trusted verification partner is demonstrated through our accreditations and credentials. Bureau Veritas is the official 2020 CDP Scoring Partner, a GRI Gold Community Member, an Approved Verifier for the Climate Bond Initiative (CBI) and we are accredited by UKAS for ISO 14065 GHG verification.

Using this expertise across the team, we applied a bespoke methodology to suit our client’s individual needs, delivering the confidence needed to our client in its ESG Report.

Our process covered pre-evaluation activities such as scoping and planning, as well as an initial review of documentation. We then undertook evaluation activities, which included a materiality assessment, data review and alignment with external frameworks. Evaluation and closure included an internal independent technical review and reporting key findings to the client.
